On Sukkot we can ask for all the Light of the Sukkah, the lulav, and the etrog to transform our own negativity and darkness into only Light and goodness. And when enough people have the tremendous, powerful, beautiful, new levels of consciousness that are available to us on Sukkot, then all negativity will be removed from this world. We can leave Sukkot thinking in a way we have never thought before, having a consciousness we never thought we could ever have; not because we earned it, but simply because we have desired it. Celebrate Sukkot Services with us in a beautiful outdoor setting Monday October 10, 2022 from 8:30am to 12pm and Tuesday October 11, 2022 from 8:30am-12pm. Lulav and Etrog are available at Eretz Synagogue for pick up. Please contact out office for more information at 818-342-9303. On behalf of Eretz Synagogue we wish you a Happy Sukkot filled with Light and Family under your Sukkah!
Lulav & Etrog Blessing
The following blessing is said while holding the lulav bundle in your right hand:
Bah-rookh ah-tah ah-doh-noi eh-loh-hay-noo meh-lekh hah-oh-lahm ah-sher ki-deh-shah-noo beh-mitz-voh-tahv veh-tzee-vah-noo ahl neh-tee-laht loo-lahv
Blessed are You, L‑rd our G‑d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us regarding taking the lulav.
When doing the mitzvah for the first time this year, say the following blessing while holding the etrog in the left hand (before bringing the two together):
Bah-rookh ah-tah ah-doh-noi eh-loh-hay-noo meh-lekh hah-oh-lahm sheh-heh-kheh-yah-noo veh-kee-mah-noo ve-hig-ee-yah-noo liz-mahn hah-zeh
Blessed are You, L‑rd our G-d, King of the Universe, who has granted us life, sustained us and enabled us to reach this occasion.
